Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2021-2045, Neal Martin, Mar 2019

The 2016 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru has a very refined bouquet with raspberry, wild strawberry, crushed stone and just a slight metallic scent that dissipates with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity, a little more backward than its fellow 2016s at the moment, perhaps mimicking the structure of the Malconsorts! Give this Premier Cru three or four years in bottle at least as it certainly needs time to coalesce. Tasted at Flint Wines Domaine Dujac tasting in London.

(13.2% alcohol): Good full red. Captivating perfume combines raspberry, Oriental spices, minerals and cocoa powder. Wonderfully sweet but tightly wound, offering a terrific core of sappy red berries and spices framed by sound acidity. Finishes with a subtle saline touch.
