The 2016 Saint-Péray Cuvée Prestige offers similar notes of stone fruits, orange blossom, and tangerine, yet is made in a richer, more opulent, unctuous style. This big, rich, seriously good Saint-Péray will give just about any Hermitage Blanc out there a run for its money. Drink it over the coming decade.

Limpid straw-yellow. Intense, mineral-accented citrus and orchard fruits on the nose; hints of white flowers, honey and fennel emerge with air. Juicy and seamless in texture, offering energetic pear, tangerine and honeysuckle flavors that are sharpened and lifted by a spine of zesty acidity. Finishes sappy, minerally and very long, showing outstanding clarity and a touch of lingering florality.
Robert’s 2016 Saint Peray Cuvee Prestige is an 80-20 blend of Marsanne (from old vines) and Roussanne. It’s richer and rounder than his single-varietal bottlings, combining the melon and marshmallow of Marsanne with honey and pineapple notes from the Roussanne, capped off by a long, spicy finish.
