Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2023-2038, Neal Martin, Jun 2022

The 2017 Poesia has a more extravagant, multi-layered bouquet with copious black cherries, boysenberry and blueberry fruit, whilst maintaining fine delineation and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, and a fine bead of acidity. Smooth and quite fleshy with touches of damson surfacing towards the finish, later hints of blood orange. Maybe it just needs a little more amplitude and tension? Tasted at the Poesia vertical in Saint-Émilion.

The 2017 Poesia is bold and racy in the glass. Plum, black cherry, chocolate, spice, new leather and licorice are all amped up in this luscious, voluptuous, flamboyantly ripe Saint-Émilion. Plush contours add to the considerable appeal of a wine that finishes with terrific energy, brightness and power.

The 2017 Poesia (from the Garçin-Léveque family of Barde-Haut, Clos l'Eglise etc) has a pretty bouquet with black cherries, bilberry and light tertiary aromas, well defined and gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannin, crunch black fruit laced with black truffle and bay leaf, firming up a little towards the finish. I like this Poesia and I suspect it will repay a couple of years in bottle.

Punteggio 90-92/100 · Da bere 2021-2032, Neal Martin, May 2018

The 2017 Poesia was picked from 26 September to 3 October is aged in 80% new French oak for 18 to 24 months. It has a perfumed bouquet with blackberry and raspberry fruit, quite “cool” in style. There is a touch more floral notes (iris) than the 2016 with a little more red fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp acidity with fine detail. It is silky smooth in texture, suggesting a potentially very approachable Saint-Émilion with fine precision.
