The 2017 La Fleur d'Arthus is pliant, open-knit and quite expressive. Sweet red cherry, red plum, mint, rose petal and blood orange all grace this understated yet expressive Saint-Émilion. This is not quite as opulent as it was from barrel, but it has plenty of depth and reserve waiting to emerge.

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 La Fleur d'Arthus leaps from the glass with lifted kirsch, black raspberries and mulberries scents plus hints of cigar box and potpourri. Medium-bodied, the palate takes just a little dip in the middle, with a chewy frame and mineral-laced finish.
Dried herbs, leather, and savory red fruits emerge from the 2017 Chateau La Fleur D'Arthus, which is medium-bodied, reasonably textured, and balanced on the palate. It's a charming, nicely balanced effort that benefits from air, has a touch of firm tannins, and should evolve for 7-8 years.
The 2017 Fleur d’Arthus has a tightly wound marine-tinged bouquet that needs some encouragement from the glass. It still remains tight-lipped! The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannin, a little heavy in the mouth with a slight metallic reduction coming through on the finish. I suspect that this will be better once bottled.
