Punteggio 85/100 · Da bere 2020-2027, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Mar 2020

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Fonreaud is sporting a lot of oak at this stage, followed up by smudged black and red fruit notes, sautéed herbs and scorched earth. The medium-bodied is a little lean and chewy with appealing herbal freshness on the finish.

The 2017 Fonréaud has a perfumed and expressive bouquet with red berry fruit, Xmas cake and allspice aromas. There is something slightly Oriental about this bouquet. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, quite harmonious with a touch of sour cherry and orange rind on the finish. This is a delicious Listrac to drink over the next decade. Tasted twice with consistent notes.

49% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot . Sweetly oaky nose. Toasty and stands out for that. Also stands out for very supple tannins. Easy and rounded. Just fresh enough. Likely to be ready earlier than some of its peers. (JH)

Punteggio 16.5/20 · Da bere 2022-2030, Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com, Sep 2019

49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot. Mid cherry red. Ripe, sweet and spicy dark cassis and a light overlay of oak spice. One of the least approachable wines in this line-up but the fruit and the firm tannins are well married and just need time. Serious, chewy and classic Listrac. Wait. (JH)
