The 2017 La Gurgue is an elegant, charming wine that privileges sensuality over power. Offering up aromas of sweet currants, berries, burning embers and forest floor, it's medium-bodied, ample and supple, with melting tannins, succulent acids and a soft, giving profile.

Just as it was from barrel, the 2017 La Gurgue is a rich, powerful wine. Dark red cherry, red plum, cedar, spice, tobacco, licorice and mocha give this hearty Margaux plenty of character as well as personality. I especially admire the wine's density and sheer depth.
The 2017 La Gurgue is a powerful, pleasantly rustic Margaux with lovely depth and texture. Smoke, licorice, new leather, chocolate and tobacco notes give the 2017 an attractive earthy quality. There is lovely depth and density in the glass. Tasted two times.
This is a really beautiful wine with a clarity that delivers gorgeous dark fruit and firm and silky tannins. Long and polished. Demeter certified biodynamic.
