Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2020-2030, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Oct 2022

Exhibiting impressive concentration for the vintage, the 2017 Lanessan is an attractive, medium-bodied wine evocative of sweet raspberries, rose petals, tobacco leaf and forest floor. Supple and charming, but with sneaky depth and persistence, it represents a strong performance for this estate.

Tasted blind. Mid ruby colour. Quite charming with blue fruit on the nose. Compact but ripe in red fruit on the palate. The acidity is fairly high, but the fruit stands up to this freshness. The tannins are unobtrusive through to the finish, making for a forward and easy style. (TP)

Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2020-2027, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Mar 2020

The 2017 Lanessan has really developed well over the last year and a half. Far deeper and more complex than it was from barrel, the 2017 possesses terrific mid-palate pliancy and depth. Sweet tobacco, grilled herbs, menthol, licorice and dried flowers add lovely shades of nuance to this attractive mid-weight Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois.

Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2021-2033, Neal Martin, Feb 2020

The 2017 Lanessan has a well defined bouquet with brambly red fruit, cedar and light tobacco notes, your quintessential Haut-Médoc really. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, quite supple tannins. Whilst it is not remarkably complex, it is nicely balanced and pliant towards the finish, a judicious white pepper and clove note lingering on the aftertaste. Fine.
