Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2024-2040, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Dec 2023

Yet more proof of how good 2017 is right now. Cloves, liquorice root, juicy blueberry and salivating, savoury cassis-strewn Cabernet Sauvignon, edge of bitter fennel and smoked almond on the finish, this is great stuff. No need to wait although you absolutely can hold on and get a softer, more finessed experience in a couple of years. 50% new oak for ageing, Jean-Pierre Marty director.

68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot. Fresh and fragrant but only just beginning to open. Accent on the fruit with both red- and dark-fruit notes. Light but fine tannic frame. Attractive in a clean, precise, elegant way. Ripe but lacks the substance of a great year so more for medium-term ageing. A touch short on the finish. (JL)

Tasted blind. Deep ruby colour. Smoky red fruits on the nose together with bright blackcurrant. Good flesh in the middle, matched by grippy structure. Chalky and dense through to the finish with layers of savoury spice lingering with hedgerow fruit. (TP)
