Note di degustazione
The 2017 Clos Badon-Thunevin is dark, plush and sensual, with tons of depth and textural richness, and no hard edges. Black plum, chocolate, new leather and licorice are kicked up a few notches. The 2017 is an especially sumptuous, flamboyant style. Best of all, it should drink well right out of the gate.

Based on 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc aged 20 months in oak, the 2017 Clos Badon Thunevin reveals a deep ruby/purple hue as well as a ripe, powerful style on the palate that offers more pleasure than most. Spiced red currants, black raspberries, toasted spice, graphite, and classy oak all flow to a medium to full-bodied, textured, balanced wine.
The 2017 Clos Badon was showing just a little reduction on the nose when I tasted it chez Thunevin. The palate is dense, masculine and rather obdurate at the moment, firm tannin, a little dryness toward the finish that just truncated this Saint-Émilion compared to others.
The 2017 Clos Badon-Thunevin, 100% Merlot this year, is superb. Rich, dense and explosive, the 2017 offers serious density and breadth. Succulent black cherry, smoke, licorice and tobacco all flesh out in this racy sumptuous Saint-Émilion. The 2017 is one of the best vintages of Clos Badon-Thunevin I have tasted.
