Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Lusseau opens with warm black cherries, mulberries and fragrant soil plus wafts of baked plums and cedar. Medium-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-coating black fruits with ripe, rounded tannins and an earthy finish.

The 2017 Lusseau, the property of Pavie technical director Laurent Lusseau, has a “plump” bouquet with cranberry and pomegranate fruit, simple but nicely focused. The palate is medium-bodied with hard tannin, firm in the mouth with a conservative, rather blunt finish at the moment.
The 2017 Lusseau is gorgeous. Supple, pliant and inviting, the 2017 possesses lovely depth and texture. Soft curves, plush fruit and silky tannins add to this mid-weight Saint-Émilion's considerable appeal. Two thousand seventeen is an especially strong vintage for Laurent Lusseau, who is the cellarmaster for all of Gerard Perse's estates. That should at least be some consolation, considering frost took with it 50% of the production.
Some chocolate and hazelnut character with juicy tannins and a fresh and clean, crisp finish. Medium body.
