Note di degustazione
A blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon, the 2017 Blanc comes sailing out of the glass with bold notes of white peaches, fresh pineapple, lemon tart and lime cordial plus suggestions of honeysuckle, beeswax and musk perfume with a touch of wild sage. Medium-bodied and with a beautiful silky texture, the palate is packed with vibrant stone fruit and tropical fruit flavors, sporting a racy line of freshness, and it finishes long with an invigorating lift.

The 2017 Cos d’Estournel Blanc has a very attractive bouquet that offers fresh lime, apricot blossom and subtle pineapple scents that I neatly integrated with the oak. The palate is well balanced with a harmonious entry and fine acidity, plenty of lime and green apple notes mixed with caramelised pear. The palate perhaps does not quite match the attractiveness on the aromatics, but will still drink well for the next 10 years.
The 2017 Chateau Cos D'Estournel Blanc is a great white based on a blend of 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon aged ten months in mostly used barrels. This medium gold-hued effort offers bright lemon and white grapefruit notes as well as a kiss of minerality and honeysuckle. It's vibrant and racy, yet beautifully textured, balanced, and unquestionably high quality.
The 2017 Cos d'Estournel Blanc bristles with energy, much of which comes from the slightly higher amount of Sauvignon Blanc in the blend. White flower and citrus peel notes are nicely pushed forward. The Semillon is felt in the wine's mid-palate creaminess and textural depth. A touch of reduction on the finish – typical for this wine – adds freshness. The blend is 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Semillon.
