Tasted blind. Pale gold colour. Quite a vinous style, poached-pear fruit. Peppery and waxy. There is flesh and intensity here. Blood orange and mandarin. Quite tropical, with the earthy botrytis character pushing through towards the back end. (TP)

The 2017 de Myrat opens with intense scents of lemon and lime preserves, manuka honey and burnt sugar with touches of candied citrus peel and lemongrass. The palate features great tension and purity with intense citrus layers and impressive length.
The 2017 de Myrat is a powerful, rich wine. Expressive aromatics play off the rich, textured palate nicely. At times, the volatile acidity is a touch elevated, but some of that may be attributable to the en primeur sample. The candied lemon, mint, white pepper and dried flower notes build nicely into the persistent finish. There is plenty of character here.
