Note di degustazione
The 2017 Vrai Canon Bouché has really gained depth and richness since I tasted it from barrel. Savory Cabernet Franc overtones add layers of depth to the dark profile, with hints of tobacco, leather and smoke that appear later. Ample and full of character, Vrai Canon Bouché has a lot going on.

Deep garnet purple in color, the 2017 Vrai Canon Bouché is a blend of 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Franc and was aged for 12-14 months in French oak barrels, 40% new. It opens with oaky notes of cedar and cloves on the nose over a core of baked plums, raisin cake and stewed cherries plus a waft of wild sage. Medium-bodied, the palate has a chewy, rather rustic texture with racy acid and just enough fruit, finishing a little hard.
The 2017 Chateau Vrai Canon Bouche is another rocking wine. Ripe black fruits, chocolate, tobacco, mocha, and spice notes all emerge from the glass, and it's a plump, round, sexy Fronsac to drink over the coming decade or so. The blend is 55% Merlot and 45% Cabernet Franc that spent 12-14 months in 40% new barrels.
The 2017 Vrai Canon Bouché is nuanced and polished, with soft contours, silky tannins and lovely overall balance. Bright red stone fruit, lifted aromatics and expressive saline underpinning are all signatures of the 45% Cabernet Franc in this year's blend.
