Punteggio 14/20 · Da bere 2021-2022, Tom Parker MW, jancisrobinson.com, Sep 2021

Natural-cork closure. Tasted blind.  Pale lemon colour. Quite cidery – baking apples and muddled spice. The palate is oxidative and disjointed. Tart acids cut through the tiring fruit. Very dry finish. (TP)

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2023-2038, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Sep 2021

Perky black and red fruits and bright acidities, tempered by an austerity to the frame. Tannins are fairly chewy, well defined and carefully extracted, and balanced by cocoa bean and liqourice to give definition and depth. Enjoyable, you could drink this now with a carafe but it will give more in another few years. 40% new oak, harvest September 12 to 29.

Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2025-2042, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Mar 2020

The 2017 Latour-Martillac is a dark, powerful wine with a ton of Cabernet Sauvignon savoriness, depth and structure. Black cherry, graphite, spice, leather, lavender and menthol infuse the 2017 with striking character and power. The 2017 is a serious, at times stubborn, wine that needs time to soften. Even in the early going, though, it is impressive.

The 2017 Latour Martillac is deep garnet-purple in color and has a nose of warm blackberries, black plum preserves and stewed tea with hints of dusty soil, sautéed herbs and tobacco. The medium-bodied palate is soft and lively with an earthy finish.
