Note di degustazione
Tasted blind. Deep ruby colour. Ripe and a little warm on the nose. This is also evident on the palate. Juicy fruit and heat. Full chalky tannins on the palate. Oak and spice. Acid cuts the finish. (TP)

The 2017 Fombrauge has developed very nicely during its élevage. Rich and sumptuous in the glass, with tremendous textural richness, the 2017 is bold, flamboyant and overt. Dark red plum, espresso, dried rose petal, mint and spice all meld together in a Saint-Émilion of real depth, texture and unctuosity.
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Fombrauge leaps from the glass with notes of baked cherries, plum preserves and raspberry pie plus wafts of tobacco, cedar chest and underbrush. Medium-bodied, the palate has a soft, plush texture and lovely freshness, finishing long and fragrant.
The 2017 Fombrauge offers attractive black cherry, boysenberry jam and light violet aromas on the nose. The oak is nicely integrated (40% new). The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin. Plenty of black fruit here laced with black olive, melted tar and white pepper. A grippy and assertive finish just feels a little dry at the moment but I suspect that it will pull through in the end.
