The 2017 Connétable de Talbot is a tasty second wine. Blood orange, brown spice, new leather and dried herbs give the 2017 an enticing, exotic profile that is quite appealing. Medium in body, with no hard edges and tons of up-front appeal, the 2017 is an attractive Saint-Julien to drink over the next few years.

The 2017 Connétable de Talbot has a light nose with brambly black fruit and touches of lavender. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly pinched tannin on the entry, quite linear in style with a simple tobacco-tinged finish.
The 2017 Connétable Talbot, which is aged in 15% new oak, offers light blackcurrant and raspberry aromas on the nose, and just a touch of cedar coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, moderate depth, a little savoury in style with a touch of white pepper towards the finish.
Succulent black cherry, plum, lavender and spice notes flesh out in the 2017 Connétable de Talbot. Drink this juicy, forward Saint-Julien over the next handful of years. Silky tannins and soft contours add to the wine's open-knit, inviting personality.
