Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2022-2032, Neal Martin, Feb 2020

The 2017 Cissac has a well defined bouquet with blackberry, cedar, brown spices and a touch of leather, some new oak (30%) needing a few months to fully integrate. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity and good grip. A saline finish urges you back for another sip. This is a commendable Cissac that makes the most of the vintage. Recommended as it is often a great value.

The 2017 Cissac has a well-defined bouquet with red cherries, crushed strawberry and light rose petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, crisp acidity, vivid red berry fruit with a fresh and quite minerally finish. This is a very commendable Haut-Médoc from Cissac and it should give 12 to 15 years of drinking pleasure.

Punteggio 16/20 · Da bere 2022-2027, Julia Harding MW, jancisrobinson.com, Apr 2018

66% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot on gravel. A cru bourgeois. Unnecessarily heavy bottle. Colour of black cherries with purple rim. Rich black fruit on the nose, a touch of cassis leaf adding lift, surprisingly open. Sweet-fruited and with some oak sweetness on the palate too but with the savoury quality of the Médoc to balance the fruit. Finely textured and supple tannins and a lovely freshness from start to finish. (JH)
