The 2017 Lune d'Or has great intensity on the nose: white peach, orange rind, a slight oily/lanolin scent that emerges with time. The palate is well-balanced with fine acidity, quite saline, good depth with a vibrant, almost Chablis-like finish. This seems to be meliorating with bottle age and really appears to express the Sémillon better than any previous vintage.

The 2017 Lune d'Or is showing especially well, exhibiting aromas of crisp orchard and stone fruits mingled with notions of freshly baked bread, beeswax and deftly judged reduction. Medium to full-bodied, layered and seamless, it's beginning to flesh out on the palate as the Sémillon expresses itself, but that flesh is underpinned by lively acids that animate the long, mineral finish.
The 2017 Lune d'Or, the top wines in Olivier Bernard's range of dry whites, is super-expressive and inviting. Lightly honeyed notes, apricot, marzipan, almonds, dried flowers and candied lemon peel give the 2017 quite a bit of complexity to match its resonant, layered feel.
The 2017 Lune d’Or is a selection of the best lots, undergoes 18 months of ageing in barrel with regular bâtonnage. It has a generous bouquet with scents of praline and marzipan, lovely tropical tones such as guava and passion fruit, a hint of coconut emerging with aeration. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity and very harmonious. It may just need a little more bite and precision on the finish. Still, this is a fine Lune d’Or from Oliver Bernard and his team.
