This is extremely juicy, has a delicate and buoyant feel to the tannins that makes it a standout in the vertical, clear texture to the raspberry fruits, touch of raspberry leaf, and a saline kick on the finish. First vintage for Gwendeline Lucas as director where she was making all the decisions, and it is a good one. 40% new oak, 10% amphora and in vegetal polymer eggs. Just 16hl/h yield, and yet delivers a juicy feel overall.

Tasted blind. Deep ruby. Floral tones of cherry blossom and red plum. A crunchy, fresh palate lined with chalky tannins and bright red fruit. Youthful, with the potential to be charming but it needs to shed some tannin quickly, while the fruit is vibrant. (TP)
The 2017 La Dominique is powerful and dense in the glass, with tremendous fruit richness and striking aromatic top notes that add energy as well as nuance to the red-toned fruit. The 2017 is not exactly subtle, but it has plenty going on.
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 La Dominique delivers notes of warm plums, baked blackberries and tar with hints of fried herbs, unsmoked cigars and Marmite toast. Medium-bodied, the palate is refreshing and straightforward with soft tannins and a lively finish.

This 29-hectare estate’s site speaks for itself, neighbouring Cheval Blanc, Figeac, Evangile and La Conseillante at the northwestern edge of Saint-Emilion, where the appellation meets Pomerol.
