Note di degustazione
The 2015 Chardonnay Bentrock wafts from the glass with a beautifully complex bouquet of macadamia nuts, wheat toast, lemon oil and preserved lemon, framed by a touch of smoky reduction. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, with a glossily textural attack, a bright spine of acidity and immense levels of concentration and intensity. The long, tongue-tingling finish is simultaneously saline and chalky. In 2015, this is my favorite of the Sandhi Chardonnays.

The 2015 Chardonnay Bentrock is terrific in this vintage. Bright, sculpted and nuanced throughout, it has much to offer, but readers will have to allow at least another year for it to come into its own. As is often the case, the Bentrock has a prominent reductive character. In 2014, the reduction adds a layer of flavor complexity without being dominant, as it has been in the past. This is a superb showing from Sandhi.
