Lumpp opines that the stony, southeast-facing slopes of this lieu-dit represent Givry's best terroir for white wine, and his 2016 Givry 1er Cru Crausot is certainly impressive, revealing fragrant aromas of white peaches and spring blossom, followed by a medium-bodied, elegantly glossy palate, with lovely purity and stony depth. It has the structure to improve with a few years' bottle age.

A spicy red and black pinot liqueur-like nose enjoys additional breadth in the form of violet, plum, earth and spice aromas. The exceptionally rich, full-bodied and suave flavors brim with dry extract that possess a highly seductive mouth feel, all wrapped in a beautifully well-balanced, complex and persistent finish. This beauty should easily reward up to a decade of cellar time and is definitely recommended.
Thick and rich on the palate with generous fruit intensity that over-delivers considering the appellation and price. Layers of flavour, with complexity still to come. (RH)
The 2016 Givry 1er Cru Crausot is a more gourmand expression of Givry, wafting from the glass with notions of ripe red fruits, fruit compote and licorice. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, velvety and ample, its fine tannins cloaked in juicy fruit. It will be hard to resist in its youth. Jul 2018, www.robertparker.com
