The 2016 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Procès is showing beautifully, wafting from the glass with complex aromas of smoky dark berry fruit, black truffles, grilled game birds and subtle forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, supple and velvety, with a deep and concentrated core of fruit that's marked by the year's low yields, bright acids, ripe tannins and a long, resonant finish. This is a great success and well worth seeking out, though it won't be easy to find.

(in tank since the end of November): Healthy bright, dark red. Blacker fruits on the nose, along with menthol and licorice nuances. Offers good texture and grip, showing a distinct medicinal reserve to its flavors of black cherry, licorice and mint. The serious tongue-dusting tannins arrive early but are supported by the wine's fruit. Faure-Brac may yet polish the tannins with a fermentation lenticulaire , noting that he's flexible on the subject of filtration.
Aromas of cloves, flowers and strawberries with hints of earth. Full- to medium-bodied,focused and bright. Lots of subtle character. Beautiful, fine tannins and a bright finish. Lovely. Drink now or age.
