Vaudieu's classic white is the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc, and it's a blend of 66% Grenache Blanc and 34% Roussanne brought up in 20% new oak. Its light gold color is followed by classic notes of buttered citrus, flower blossom, and honeysuckle. Possessing medium to full-bodied richness, terrific minerality, and bright acidity, as well as concentration, it's a gorgeous effort to enjoy over the coming 3-4 years, and I suspect even longer. This is another great lineup from Chateau de Vaudieu, who have risen to the top of the heap recently. They make a perfumed, elegant style of wine, and have started releasing numerous single parcel wine from vines all located around the estate. While the 2016s are a clear step up, the 2015s has terrific purity and elegance.

Partially barrel-fermented and matured, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc blends two-thirds Grenache Blanc with one-third Roussanne to create a white with a fine balance of richness and freshness. Hints of honey accent the tangerine and mandarin orange flavors, while this plump wine still finishes vibrant, clean and briny.
