After skipping the 2014 harvest, their signature vineyard comes back with the 2015 Rumbo Al Norte, from the warmest year they experienced since they started Comando G in 2008. This 2015 has a completely different profile, more like Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a lot more Mediterranean in character, with notes of cherries in liqueur. In fact, I thought it was a Château Rayas in a blind tasting of top Garnacha wines from all over the world. The Mediterranean like character reflects the style of the year, and it might be a matter of preference, but it is at a similar level as the best vintages of this vineyard. 1,130 bottles produced. It shows how the best sites can take all styles of years. A real grand cru combining elegance and power.
