The 2016 Syrah OGT comes almost exclusively from the estate Colson Canyon, which is located high up in the hills above the town of Los Olivos. It offers a heavenly bouquet of sweet red and black fruits, Asian spices, dried flowers, and incense as well as a rounded, supple, straight-up thrilling style on the palate. Despite being a massive wine, it stays balanced, silky and seamless, with no sensation of weight. It's a true “Wow” wine that all the hedonists out there need to try! As I wrote when I tasted it from barrel last year, it’s unquestionably one of the wines of the vintage. Drink it any time over the coming 10-15 years.

Tensley's Syrah OGT is dark, powerful and concentrated, but also done in the more fragrant and laid-back style that is typical of the vintage here. A dollop of whole clusters gives a nice sense of lift to the plum, menthol, dark cherry and lavender nuances. Available in magnum only.
