Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2023-2032, Josh Raynolds, Dec 2021

Opaque ruby. Ripe black and blue fruits, licorice and candied flowers on the spice-accented nose. In a round, lush style, showing very good depth and energy to its sweet blueberry, floral pastille and spicecake flavors. Lingers with strong tenacity on the youthfully tannic finish, leaving behind a suave floral note.

Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2017-2024, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Oct 2017

Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Shiraz Bin 128 has a gregarious nose of cherry cordial, baked blackberries and spice cake with hints of chocolate box and dusty earth. Medium to full-bodied, rich, velvety and open for biz, it has a lovely spicy core and great length.

Punteggio 17/20 · Da bere 2020-2030, Jancis Robinson MW, Sep 2017

100% Shiraz. Bin 128 comprises fruit sourced from the unique terra rossa soils of cool-climate Coonawarra. Coonawarra has remained the source of Shiraz fruit for Bin 128 since the inaugural release of the 1962 vintage. Above-average temperatures were recorded in winter and continued throughout spring. Rainfall was below average throughout winter, due to a drier August, and dry conditions persisted through spring resulting in early vine growth. The summer period saw rainfall over 10 mm higher than the long-term average due to a high rainfall event occurring in January, pre-veraison. Moderate temperatures from early summer through to vintage meant that ripening was steady with the Coonawarra recording ten days over 35 °C during the summer period. TA 6.4g/l, pH 3.64. 12 months in 30% new, 30% one-year-old and 40% two-year-old French oak hogsheads. Very deep crimson. Very ripe, leathery, round and super-polished. And then it's all tightly drawn like a drawstring purse on the end. Doesn't quite follow right through on the palate to the end. The dry tannins make their presence felt on the very very end. Tarry but not heavy. Pretty clever. So much more generous than the average Coonawarra Shiraz. (JR)
