Tremblay’s two precious pieces, i.e. 50 cases worth of 2005 Vosne-Romanee Les Beaumonts wafts from the glass with pure ripe cassis, veal stock, musky florality, ginger, star anise and cumin. Creamy and enveloping on the palate, this nonetheless preserves an insistent tart black fruit edge, bracing freshness and lip-smacking salinity and savor. A superb concentration of pure cassis, rich carnality, and exotic spice, along with subtly bitter-sweet and musky inner-mouth florality and salty, chalky minerality constitute a memorable finish.
