Light fragrance, crisp and precise but somewhat simple. Some clove character to finish. Decent persistence and purity. (RH)

The 2013 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard is one of the more restrained and ethereal wines on this range. Crushed flowers, sweet red stone fruits, hard candy, mint, anise and cinnamon. The wine's forward color, mid-weight structure and fleeting finish all suggest it is best enjoyed sooner rather than later.
Lighter in color than the Duvarita, the 2013 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard has lots of the classic marine, shrimp broth and minerality of the site, as well as bright cherry, strawberry and spice aromas and flavors. Elegant, balanced, medium-bodied, and with bright acidity, this comes in on the leaner end of the spectrum, yet I suspect will flesh out with a year in bottle. Fermented with 45% whole clusters and aged 16 months in 20% new French oak, it's an outstanding Pinot Noir that should be at it's best from 2016-2021.
