The 2014 Labadie is plump, juicy and absolutely delicious. Dark cherry, plum, tobacco and a hint of sweetness from the oak give the Labadie its supple, inviting feel.

The palate is medium-bodied with a soft texture, layers of toasty red berry fruit laced with cedar and game, yet missing some freshness and complexity towards the finish. Tasted September 2016.
Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Coffee and smoke aromas – from toasted oak, perhaps? Some bitter notes on the finish, and there's a little dilution on the mid-palate too. Enjoyable flavours, but doesn't come together as a whole. (RH)
