Bright ruby. Fresh red berries and cherry on the nose, with suave floral and mineral qualities adding interest. Open-knit red fruit preserve flavors are medium in weight and edge-free, finishing with good breadth and cling. This is ready to drink.

The peppery, spicy 2005 Chateauneuf du Pape’s dark ruby color reveals some pink at the edge. It exhibits surprising softness for a year in which the tannin and acidity were noticeable in many wines. A resiny pine forest character interwoven with black cherry, plum, and balsam wood notes are followed by a medium-bodied, soft, approachable Chateauneuf to enjoy over the next 6-8 years.
