Note di degustazione
Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, the 2014 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Cras from Liger-Belair has a very classy and sophisticated bouquet with beautiful pure black cherry, wild strawberry and briary scents that gently waft from the glass. The palate is very well balanced with fine tannin and a gentle grip in the mouth, with plenty of pure black fruit toward the finish. This is a noble 2014 that testifies top-notch terroir and, likewise, top-notch winemaking even if it needs to fully absorb the oak. Tasted September 2017.

(still in barrel): Bright red-ruby. Subdued aromas of medicinal black fruits and smoky minerality perked up by a note of orange zest. Precise and tightly wound; shows less fat than the subsequent wines but this needs a racking. A distinctly stony, high-altitude wine from poor soil.
Deep purplish blue. Sumptuous, heady nose. Very juicy. Good energy. Medium weight. Excitement. Crackling chalky tannins. It really does taste chalky! (JR)
