Medium red. Pungent minerality lifts the vibrant fruit aromas of red and dark berries and cherry. Tactile, saline and suave, showing a very ripe, almost candied quality to its slowly mounting cherry fruit. Wonderfully silky wine with superb tannins and length.

The 2014 Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru has a beautiful, very fragrant bouquet that has exquisite delineation and complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, quite saline in the mouth with sappy red berry fruit, a hint of cola percolating through with a very focused, harmonious finish. This is an exquisite expression of the vineyard, a wine with a long future ahead.
2013 was first vintage. Vines 40+ years old. Mid crimson with a pale rim. Good focus and sweet macerated cherries nose. Rather liqueur-like. Very structured. Lots there. Good bite. (JR)
