Note di degustazione
More complexity on the nose, spice, tobacco and a hint of menthol too. The blend is 65% Grenache (from 80+ year-old vines), 20% Syrah and the rest Cinsault and Mourvedre. Far more savoury than the Cuvee Classique, with that classic Provençal character – herbs, game, an earthiness – but also terrific freshness and acidity. Peppery, with hints of liquorice and violets too. There’s loads of potential here.

Deep ruby. A highly perfumed bouquet displays scents of fresh red fruits, incense and smoky minerals, and a suave lavender nuance builds as the wine opens up. Juicy, alluringly sweet raspberry and floral pastille flavors become fleshier and deeper with air while maintaining their vivacity. Seamless and pure, finishing with excellent clarity and persistence and harmonious tannins that come in slowly.
Tasted blind. Very deep crimson. Dark and lustrous. Not much nose. Thick, glossy, salty with such ripe tannins they are almost imperceptible. Candied strawberries? Some intensity (not heat) on the finish. This delivers. (JR)
