Note di degustazione
The entry-level 2016 Le Petit Haut Lafitte Blanc should be purchased by the case, as it has plenty of classic Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc character in a more elegant, mid-weight package. Crushed citrus, key lime pie, and some rocky notes all flow to a beautifully balanced, vibrant white that has notable tension and elegance as well as a clean finish. Drink this beauty any time over the coming 3-4 years.

The 2016 Le Petit Haut Lafitte Blanc, matured in 50% new oak, has a fresh bouquet of yellow flowers and hints of orange blossom; it’s quite tight at the moment and would probably benefit from decanting. The palate is well balanced with a fresh, saline entry, fine depth and well-integrated wood. Hints of grapefruit and orange pith furnish the finish, which exhibits good length. Very fine.
This is very defined and bright, the lively acidity giving wonderful drive to the wine . Medium body with lemons, mangoes and green papaya. Lively finish. Drink now or hold.
The 2016 Le Petit Haut Lafitte Blanc is deep, layered and very pretty. A hint of new oak frames the orchard fruit and floral notes nicely, while tropical overtones add a dash of exotic flair. All the elements simply meld together in a striking, inviting wine endowed with terrific balance and tons of pure appeal. The interplay of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon works beautifully here.
