From pure limestone soils and a wine that always has tons of acidity (the pH is in the 3.3 range), the 2016 Château Canon Pécresse reveals a vivid purple/ruby color as well as ripe red and black fruits, tobacco, and forest floor. It's vibrant on the palate, has integrated acidity, and a clean finish. This solid, interesting, well-made wine will keep for upwards of two decades.

The medium garnet-purple colored 2016 Canon Pécresse features pretty kirsch and rose petal scents over a core of stewed plums and blackberry preserves plus a touch of cloves. Medium-bodied, the palate offers just enough red and black fruit with a chewy frame and pleasant herbal note on the finish.
The 2016 Canon Pécresse presents a distinctly dark, rich expression of Fronsac. Dark fruit, spice, chocolate and licorice all flesh out in the glass. Rich, creamy and flamboyant, this wine will appeal most to readers who like exotic, opulent reds.
