Note di degustazione
The 2016 Clos de Jacobins has an odd nose, overtly floral to the point where it occludes the terroir profile, the DNA of the château. The palate is medium-bodied with dry tannins and plenty of chocolaty black fruit, but feels overdone on the finish. It needs more charm. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

Tasted blind. Strongly perfumed, verging on perceptible VA! Seductive and almost porty. Lots of effort here to smother the tannins. Very distinctive style. Long and rich. Attempt at a Gevrey? Very distinctive! But not that bordelais. (JR)
Very very dark crimson. Opulent nose that’s immediately very winning – but will it be refreshing enough on the palate? Yes! Really quite complex and beautifully balanced. Biscuity flavours and a dry finish. Really all the elements are here and it tastes as though it will have quite a long drinking window. (JR)
