The 2016 Hosanna has a compelling bouquet with blackberry and estuarine scents, a little Left Bank in style. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, very well balanced, gentle grip and an elegant, pure finish. Sensual and delightful. Tasted at Bordeaux Index’s Ten Year On tasting.

Oh this is tasty, loving the Pomerols with their slightly more restrained flesh than the same appellation in 2015, and here you have a great example. A ton of slate and black chocolate, bilberry and crayon, drawn out and ready to go.
The 2016 Hosanna has a classy bouquet of delineated black fruit laced with cedar, tobacco and ferrous notes. The medium-bodied palate features supple tannins, a fine bead of acidity and lovely spiciness toward the finish. There is impressive cohesion here and wonderful length, completing a seriously impressive Hosanna that appears to be improving in bottle. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

Château Hosanna is a relatively young wine label in Pomerol, but one with some of the richest heritage in the entire region. It couldn’t be better situated with Château Lafleur to the north, Vieux Château Certan to the south and flanked on either side by Pétrus and Château Lafleur-Pétrus.
