Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2022-2035, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Oct 2022

Unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berries, cherries, sweet soil tones and cigar wrapper, the 2016 Fourcas Hosten is medium-bodied, supple and lively, with powdery tannins and a saline finish. Based on 55% Merlot, it's the first year the blend includes newly planted Cabernet Sauvignon on the estate's best gravelly terroirs.

Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2022-2036, Neal Martin, Jul 2021

The 2016 Fourcas Hosten is much better on the nose compared to the 2015, exhibiting more delineation and precision, and capturing your attention with plenty of vibrant blackberry and raspberry fruit laced with cedar and blood orange. The palate is well balanced with slightly chalky tannins, minerally black fruit and touches of cedar and mint. There is a sense of cohesion and confidence on the finish. This did not shine out of barrel, but now in bottle with a bit of age, it is growing in stature.

A medium-bodied, charming, easy-drinking wine, the 2016 Château Fourcas Hosten comes from the Listrac region in the Médoc and offers a solid bouquet of dried herbs, spice, garrigue, and hints of flowers. Drink it over the coming 5-7 years or so.

A linear and fresh red with currant, raspberry and lemon aromas and flavors, following through to a medium body, firm tannins and a bright finish. A blend of merlot and cabernet sauvignon. Drink or hold.
