Note di degustazione
The 2016 La Tour Figeac has a fleshy, soft, slightly overdone bouquet, though it’s hard not to fall for those menthol aromas that impart Antipodean charm. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and firm grip. Again, like the aromatics, I feel this is just pushed a little too much in the winery and consequently lacks the tension and detail one would like. The bottle I tasted 12 months ago showed much better. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

Tasted blind. Macerated currants and lots of direction. Round and velvety. Lots of pleasure. (JR)
Mid crimson with a surprisingly evolved rim. Sweet and fresh on the nose. There is energy and originality here. Not heavy but it races along. Not one of the longest-lived methinks. Rather smooth and sweet. (JR)
