Note di degustazione
Open-knit leafiness on the nose as well as smoky oak, iron, sweet spice and vanilla. Loads of gratifying complexity here – yet still so young. Really no need to cellar, if you're impatient. Long, candied finish. (RH)

The 2016 Château Latour a Pomerol (96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc) is a beautiful, classic, downright sexy Pomerol. Plenty of black cherries, currants, chocolate, and earthy tobacco notes all emerge from this medium-bodied, plump, rounded beauty that has impeccable balance, ripe, present tannins, loads of sweet fruit, and a great finish. It's a beauty.
The 2016 Latour-à-Pomerol feels a little smudged on the nose compared to its peers, touches of mocha infusing ripe red fruit that doesn’t quite display the energy of the 2015. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and a fine thread of acidity. However, I would not rank this among the best Latour-à-Pomerols in recent years; it needs more vigor and backbone on the finish.
