Note di degustazione
The 2016 Château de Fieuzal has a ripe redcurrant and cranberry-scented bouquet, touches of Montecristo cigar and loam coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fleshy with gentle grip, and a dash of black pepper towards the finish. This should give another 15 years of drinking pleasure. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting.

The 2016 de Fieuzal has a detailed, focused bouquet, wonderfully focused and precise, featuring blackberry, cedar and black olive scents. There is a sense of classicism and class here. The medium-bodied palate offers supple tannins, perfectly pitched acidity and a harmonious, tertiary finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is an outstanding Pessac-Léognan that, before its identity was revealed, I speculated could be Domaine de Chevalier. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.
Tasted blind. Another sweaty nose and rather loose and lacking acidity. Loose and creamy textured. Drink soon. Hint of charred barrels. (JR)
