Bright red. Pretty severe without that much fruit. Very austere, in fact. (JR)

70% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc. 3.5-ha parcel. First vintage 2009. Made by the owners of Ch Grand Village. Black plum, liquorice. Aniseed – dark and savoury in style. High but open-knit tannins with a slightly rubbery mouthfeel. Light body, easy drinking and with good fruit purity. (RH)
The 2013 G Acte 5 was pure joy from barrel and it does not let you down now in bottle. Here we have a lovely nose of red brambly fruit, red cherries and just a touch of vanilla. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp, tensile tannin, tart red fruit with touches of chalk, just a little toughness on the finish but that should soften with another 12-18 months in bottle. Very fine, especially considering the vintage. Oct 2016, www.robertparker.com
