Healthy ruby-colored, the 2008 Château Simard has a pretty, elegant, gulpable style. Currants, cherries, spice, and hints of leafy underbrush all emerge from this medium-bodied, supple, relatively short, yet delicious Saint Emilion.

Licorice, garrigue, spice box and sweet red and black currant fruit soar from the glass of this medium-bodied, deliciously fruity, forward-styled St.-Emilion. It is meant for consumption over the next 5-6 years.
Mid to deep crimson. Really rather polished and sophisticated on the nose. Lot of energy and life on the nose. Round and rude and quite dry on the finish. Racy and elegant. (JR)

Owned by the Vauthier family, who also own Ch. Ausone, this large Saint-Emilion estate is the entry-point to the Vauthier range. It is an excellent introduction to the family’s wines and great value, offering an earlier-drinking style.
