Note di degustazione
The 2014 Châteauneuf du Pape is a good, maybe not great, effort in the vintage. Offering a medium-bodied, slightly mid-weight texture, with firm tannin, it gives up pretty notes of strawberries, blackberries, dried earth and herbes de Provence. It’s a charming effort to drink over the coming 6-8 years.

Deep ruby. Expressive spice- and mineral-accented aromas of black raspberry, cherry-cola and candied licorice carry a suave floral overtone. Sappy, penetrating red and blue fruit and lavender pastille flavors show excellent depth and clarity, and zesty acidity provides support and lift. Supple, building tannins give shape and grip to the impressively long finish, which features sexy floral character and a repeating mineral flourish.
Tasted blind. Dark lustrous crimson. Spicy, dense and very youthful. More tannin than acid. Just slightly pinched on the end of the palate but should grow into a decent bottle. (JR)
