Note di degustazione
The 2014 Vosne-Romanée Aux Communes, the second vintage from Seguin-Manuel, has a light red cherry, tomato leaf and tobacco-scented bouquet, the whole cluster fruit (25%) lending a pleasant earthiness. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, the acidity well judged, hints of kirsch and red cherries, even a little dab of peppermint on the finish. This is a Vosne-Romanée with a spring in its step.

Pure, jewelled, ripe, berry notes peal out the glass with almost unseemly sweetness and charm. All reserve abandoned in favour of gregariousness. And that almost carries through to the palate... Abundant charming fruit held in check, just, by the sharp bony elbow of very young acidity and not-quite-raw oak. Vanilla pod and tea leaf, lovely sapidity and sappiness, playing tag with wiry, sinewed tannins. Quite moreish on the finish. (TC)
