Punteggio 18/20 · Da bere 2017-2027, Jancis Robinson MW, Aug 2018

Light to mid garnet. Very fragrant in a non-pushy, Mugnier-like way. Delicate, sweet, pleasing and well balanced. Quite a contrast to the Bishop Creek Oregon Pinot tasting alongside, although admittedly it's two years older. (JR)

Just as captivating from bottle as it was from barrel, the 2014 Pinot Noir The Haven Vineyard Estate is simply magnificent. Dark stone fruit, mint, white pepper and chalk notes are all amped up by the natural intensity of the vintage. The Haven is super-expressive today, and also one of the many highlights in the range.

Medium to deep ruby-purple colored, the 2014 Pinot Noir The Haven Vineyard gives a complex nose of red currants, cranberries and black raspberries over dried herbs, underbrush, dusty earth and fungi notes, plus hints of tree bark and black tea. Medium-bodied, the palate packs-in the intense flavor layers, with tons of earthy notes complimented by red fruits and supported by chewy tannins, finishing long with a refreshing lift. Though very tempting to drink now, this Pinot should reward cellaring, aging gracefully over the next 15+ years.

Aromas of stones, dark berry, and shitake mushroom follow through to a medium to full body, ultra-fine tannins, and flavorful finish. Lovely length. Drink now.
