Punteggio 94/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2018

Moderately saturated medium red. Complex, soil-driven aromas of cherry, plum and pepper. A wine of compelling sweetness and the most refined of these wines to this point, showing surprisingly vibrant flavors of red fruits, minerals and peppery herbs. This wine's energy and lift transcend the vintage (a particularly impressive accomplishment for a warm site) the thickness of the fruit will be equally responsible for its long life in bottle. A nuanced, sedate beauty with terrific palate coverage and a long, firm, spicy finish.

Healthy medium red. Ripe, deep aromas of cherry, plum, smoked meat and game are a bit less airy and high-pitched than those of the Capita, no doubt due to this warmer site. Plush and sweet in the mouth, boasting terrific stuffing for its acids and fine-grained dusty tannins. For all its density, this wine conveys excellent vinosity. Really glistens and vibrates on the the very long, palate-saturating finish.

The 2015 Chapelle Chambertin Grand Cru has a flipping gorgeous bouquet with perfumed black cherries and blueberry fruit intermingling with subtle undergrowth and woodland aromas. It has razor-sharp precision and superb focus. The palate is medium-bodied with very crisp tannin. There is impressive precision in situ, a beguiling sense of energy percolation through the red berry fruit, merging with more black fruit towards the finish. It actually bears similarities to Domaine Dugat's Chapelle Chambertin this year, both exuding terroir expression and joie-de-vivre. This is superb.
