Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2020-2036, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2018

The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Villages is a blend derived from four parcels located in Champerrier du Bas, Charreux, Les Crais and La Platière. The wine offers up a pretty nose of spicy blackberry, cherry and licorice framed by new oak that introduces a full-bodied, flavorful wine structured around fine tannins. A generous Gevrey villages which should offer a broad drinking window.

Good dark red. Fresh but reticent aromas of black cherry, menthol and licorice. Very ripe and a bit medicinal; a distinctly black-and-purple style of Gevrey and a bit less sweet than the young 2016. This sappy village wine finishes with fine-grained but youthfully firm tannins and a lingering note of ripe strawberry. I'd give this wine at least a few years in the cellar before pulling the cork.

Bright ruby-red. Rather refined aromas and flavors of blackberry, licorice and violet. A bit youthfully clenched, with a note of marc and a peppery element contributing to the wine's primary quality. Nicely concentrated and dense but its fresh fruit flavors are a bit dominated by tannins in the early going (a good bit of this fruit derives from La Platière, which is located on the wrong side of the Route Nationale).

(from La Platière, Les Crais, Charreux and Champerrier du Bas). Here the wood influence is somewhat more obvious with menthol and toast nuances present on the plum, black cherry and earth-scented nose. There is impressive concentration to the full-bodied, rich and palate coating flavors that possess a succulent mid-palate which contrasts markedly with the bold, rustic and powerful finish. This too is very good for its level and recommended. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
