Remoissenet’s 2015 Nuits St. Georges Les Damodes 1er Cru is built more on elegance than the brute power that is often found in wines from this site. Violet, licorice, plum and menthol are some of the signatures in a Nuits that speaks to finesse above all else. Striking in its inner sweetness and overall class, the 2015 Damodes is a winner. The 2015 has more than enough depth to drink well for a number of years.

The 2015 Nuits St Georges les Damodes 1er Cru, which comes from purchased grapes, has a fresh and lively bouquet with blueberry tincturing the dark cherry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a rounded texture, silky smooth in the mouth with quite a sensual and voluptuous finish, a saline touch on the aftertaste.
(Remoissenet purchases this fruit, from the lower part of Damodes very close to the Vosne border, but their team does all the vineyard work; aging in 50% new oak): Deep medium ruby. Very ripe aromas of black cherry and licorice. Sappy and ripe, even a bit liqueur-like, but not yet expressive (this wine always evolves slowly in barrel, Rovani notes). Offers excellent density without any rough edges and finishes with lovely subtle length and spicy lift.
