Note di degustazione
The 2015 Vosne-Romanée Les Chaumes 1er Cru has a cohesive, focused bouquet of pure red cherries, bergamot and undergrowth scents and nicely integrated oak. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannin and well-judged acidity. Touches of spice and blood orange toward the sustained finish complete a really quite joyful 2015 Burgundy. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Tasted blind, the 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes was also showing well in its lavish, dramatic style, bursting with aromas of dark berries, spices and creamy high-quality new oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, supple and pure, with juicy acids and an open-knit, giving profile. It's one of the finest renditions of Les Chaumes that I've tasted from Maxime.
(I tasted this wine from a barrel that had finished its malolactic fermentation): Bright medium red. Black cherry and a hint of reduction on the nose. Sweet, deep and concentrated, conveying a distinctly crunchy quality to its fresh dark fruit and mineral flavors. This firmly tannic but suave wine will need at least a few years of bottle aging to harmonize, but it already saturates the mouth on the long finish.
(from a .47 ha parcel). Reduction presently masks the underlying fruit though there is good freshness on the palate as the supple and refined middle weight flavors possess a really lovely mouth feel, all wrapped in a focused, delineated and energetic finale. This too is lovely stuff fashioned in an understated style. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
